About The Colony
Pool Construction & Outdoor Living in The Colony, TX
The Colony is a vibrant lakeside community of about 47,000 residents (2026 estimate) in Denton County, located along the eastern shores of Lewisville Lake. The city has seen significant transformation in recent years with the development of Grandscape — one of the largest mixed-use developments in North Texas — bringing new dining, entertainment, and retail that have repositioned The Colony as a destination, not just a suburb.
Stewart Peninsula features unique waterfront and water-adjacent properties with direct access to Lewisville Lake — a rare find in the DFW metroplex. Austin Waters is a well-established community with mature landscaping and homes that are prime candidates for pool additions and backyard renovations.
The Tribute is a luxury lakeside golf community shared with neighboring Corinth, anchored by two championship golf courses and featuring upscale homes with expansive outdoor spaces. The Cascades at The Legends adds further housing variety, and many of the city's communities are within minutes of the lake, reinforcing the outdoor lifestyle that defines The Colony.
The Colony's ongoing investment in parks, trails, and lakeside amenities — plus the draw of Grandscape's dining and entertainment — reinforces the outdoor lifestyle that residents value. Pool construction and renovation are both strong markets here, as homeowners invest in outdoor living spaces to complement the city's recreational character. The Colony's proximity to both Lewisville Lake and major highways (SH-121, Sam Rayburn Tollway) makes it attractive to families who want water access without sacrificing urban convenience.
