Design Tips
Planning Your Outdoor Kitchen
Smart layout decisions make the difference between a kitchen you use every weekend and one that collects dust.
Proximity to your indoor kitchen — shorter trips between indoor and outdoor cooking zones
Prevailing wind direction — grill smoke should blow away from seating and the house
Utility access — gas lines, water supply, drainage, and electrical for appliances and lighting
Shade and weather protection — covered structures keep you cooking in rain or blazing sun
Seating and flow — bar seating at the island, nearby dining table, and clear traffic paths
Material durability — every surface rated for outdoor UV, moisture, and temperature extremes

Outdoor Kitchen FAQ
How much does a custom outdoor kitchen cost?
Outdoor kitchens range from $15,000 for a basic grill island to $75,000+ for a fully equipped kitchen with countertops, appliances, covered structure, lighting, and seating. The biggest factors are size, appliance selection, and countertop material. Visit our showroom to see options at every price point.
What grill brands do you install?
We carry and install all the major built-in grill brands through The Grill Store by Prestige — including Alfresco, Twin Eagles, Lynx, Blaze, Napoleon, Coyote, and more. Our showroom has working displays so you can see and compare before choosing.
What's the best countertop material for outdoor kitchens?
Granite is the most popular — it's heat-resistant, durable, and comes in hundreds of colors. Quartzite is even harder. Poured concrete offers a modern industrial look. Porcelain slabs are lightweight and virtually indestructible. We'll help you choose based on your style and budget.
Do I need a gas line for an outdoor kitchen?
A natural gas line is recommended for built-in grills and side burners — it provides unlimited fuel and eliminates propane tank changes. We coordinate gas line installation as part of the project. Propane options are available if natural gas isn't accessible.
Can you add an outdoor kitchen to my existing patio?
Yes. We regularly build outdoor kitchens on existing concrete patios, pool decks, and covered porches. We evaluate the existing surface, run utilities, and build the island and structure to integrate seamlessly with your current space.
